![]() ![]() ![]() It's silly and not particularly fun to listen to. I just don't know what Tony was thinking. Like, an elderly actor has memorized the lines for Paris, and might play him one day? Juliet's other fairly young suitor? And how about the part where he appears to be telling a young actor about the chance to live a thousand lives on stage? Doesn't that go completely against the theme of the song where it's sad that he never lived his own, "aboding deep in vanities?" Why is he not giving advic e to not lose oneself the way he did? Then there's the bizarro "breakdown/rant" part with the wildly fluctuating vocals, which. ![]() I could tear up at the end.īut there are just a few things in the lyrics that drive me batty. It's more on the "love" side, because the pre-chorus and chorus are incredible and the theming of the song (an actor loses himself in his career roles and forgets to live his own life until he is elderly) is beautiful and fascinating. I have a love/hate relationship with this song. ![]()
